Free while it is being tested
Everything is free at the moment, and there is no card anywhere on the site. Send a chapter or the whole manuscript, as many times as you like, up to 250,000 words at a go.
The reason is simple. The service works on my own pages, and it has not been read by enough other writers yet. What you mark as useful or not shapes how the next letters to you are written, and it tells me which kinds of notes hold up. That is worth more to me right now than the money is, so if you have been curious about it, this is the moment.
You get the same thing the service will charge for later: a real letter on your pages, the notes marked on your own text, and one revision of the letter if you want to argue with it. What I ask in return is that you say what you thought, especially where it was wrong.
When the test phase ends, the prices below are what it goes back to. Nothing you send during the test will be charged for, then or later.

Free
Up to 25,000 words, no card, once. Enough to see whether the letter is any use to you before you decide anything.
A chapter

Up to 25,000 words. One chapter, several chapters, or a short story. Send them as you finish them; each read is written with the earlier letters beside it, so the notes build rather than repeat.
A book
$100
Up to 250,000 words, read as one thing. Problems that run across a whole manuscript are invisible chapter by chapter, and this is where they show up.
Reading it again
$50
For a whole manuscript that has already been read once, and paid for, and has changed since. Half price, because the groundwork is done: the second letter starts from what you fixed, what you left, and what you disagreed with.
Every read includes one revision of its letter. Argue with a finding, ask for more examples, or tell me I have misread the book, and the letter comes back answering that. A rewritten chapter is a new read, not a revision, because it is new pages.
Prices are shown without tax. VAT is added where it applies, worked out from where you are, and you will see the final amount before you pay. The word count is read from your file and shown to you before anything is sent or charged; the words in the book description you paste in count too, since they get read.
