Your work stays yours

Copyright in your manuscript is yours and stays yours. Sending it here grants me a licence to do one thing, which is to read it in order to produce your editorial letter. That licence ends when you delete the work or close your account.

Nothing you send is published, quoted publicly, shown to anyone else, or used as an example without your explicit permission asked for separately at the time.

Your manuscript is not used to train any model, mine or anybody else's. The AI provider the analysis runs through is used under terms that exclude training on submitted content.

This is worth stating plainly because it is the thing writers are right to ask about first.

Me, and the systems needed to store and process it. No other customer can reach your work; access is enforced by the database rather than by the application, which means a mistake in the interface cannot expose it.

Files are stored privately and can only be retrieved through short-lived links generated for you.

You can delete a manuscript at any time from your account, and it goes from storage. Ask me to remove everything and I will, including the letters and the record of the reads.

One caveat worth being honest about: backups roll on a cycle, so deleted material can persist in an encrypted backup for a short period before it ages out. It is not accessible in the meantime.

If I stop running it, you get told in advance with enough time to download everything. Your work is not an asset that gets sold with the business.
